In the digital world, first impressions are made at a glance.
Quality images convey professionalism, competence, and authenticity, instilling confidence in your audience. When you present yourself in a polished and professional manner, you signal that you take your work seriously and can be trusted to deliver.
So how should you prepare for a business portrait. One of the most common questions I am asked is, “what color should I wear?”
When sitting for a business portrait, I recommend a color darker than your skin. Why? Because I want to highlight your face, not your clothing. Earthtones like gray, green and brown are great choices. Dark blue is also an excellent choice, it’s the color of trust, honesty, and dependability. If red is your signature color that’s great, just know that it’s a bold choice for a headshot and likely to be more memorable than your smile.
Another frequent question is how much time it will take.
When you come in to be photographed, I block 20 to 30 minutes. I don’t want you to feel rushed. If you feel rushed, your images will look rushed. During that time, I’ll photograph the left and the right side of your face. I’ll have you sit for some images and stand for a few as well.
My goal is to have you looking and feeling your best. Professional headshots are not just about capturing a flattering image; they are about telling your story. When you invest in professional photography, you enhance your online presence, build trust and credibility, and make a memorable impression that sets you apart.
