This is one of the things that I still love to do, a traditional portrait of a person in the studio. For me it's not just about the photography. I enjoy the one-on-one communication with the person I'm photographing, making them feel comfortable in front of the camera. The woman I photographed was 80 years old and, in my opinion, a classy, older woman like her should be photographed in this more traditional style. Layn

Where do you work? What do you do? Do your business images tell your story? I photograph a lot of environmental portraits like this for businesses because they quickly answer those questions. A nice, clean-cut employee in the foreground wearing the business's uniform and a backdrop of the sewing machine with the tools shows they do equipment repair. A shot like this fills up that small profile box, so a person scrolling through Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc. can see your face, know it's you and pay attention to what you are posting. Being visible is especially important if you use social media for work. Layn
